What started as one message turned into something incredible.
Corbin Drum, a DCHS junior, reached out to a TikToker from Guilford County (“meet me in the media center”) to help start a Battle of the Books chapter, and the support that followed was amazing.
Because of that initiative, people from all over stepped up and purchased books from the wishlist. We now have 126 books and counting.
Shoutout to supporters from across the country and beyond: Colorado, South Carolina, North Carolina, California, Indiana, Minnesota, Washington, Pennsylvania, and even the UK.
These students are excited and ready to get started, and we’re just getting started. Any DCHS student is welcome to join Battle of the Books by reaching out to Mrs. Koontz.

Remote Learning Day Thursday, 1.29.26
