Finance Department
The Davie County Schools Finance Department is responsible for managing the district’s financial resources to support student and staff success. This includes budgeting, payroll, accounting, purchasing, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The team works closely with school and district leaders to ensure funds are used efficiently, transparently, and in alignment with educational goals and priorities.

Finance Team




O’Connor serves as the Assistant Director of Finance for Davie County Schools, bringing over 35 years of experience in finance, including 17 years with the district. She holds an A.A.S. in Accounting from Davidson County Community College. Janie oversees district general accounting programs, cash management, and ensures fiscal responsibility across all operations. She compiles and analyzes data for various reports required by oversight agencies and maintains strict adherence to Davie County Schools’ policies, as well as state and federal regulations. Her expertise and dedication help safeguard the district’s financial integrity while supporting its mission to serve students and staff.
Shoffner is the Benefits Specialist for Davie County Schools. A Davie County native and 1996 graduate of Davie County Schools, she joined the district in 2005 after working in corporate banking and earned an A.A. from Forsyth Tech Community College. She assists employees with new hire benefits, leave of absences, retirement benefits, and benefit-related questions, and manages health, dental, vision, life insurance, Colonial Life benefits, flexible spending accounts, employment verifications, ACA, and Department of Labor reporting. Supporting DCS is both her profession and her passion. Crystal is also a proud mother, and it is especially meaningful to her that her daughter is a teacher in the district.
