The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We take weather safety concerns very seriously and carefully assess conditions across the district, including all travel scenarios, when monitoring weather and travel conditions.

As a result, Davie County Schools may decide to close early, delay, or cancel school when winter weather creates hazardous driving conditions or when temperatures are too cold for bus equipment to operate safely. 

We strive to make morning announcements no later than 6:00 AM, and if a decision can be made the evening prior, we will notify you then. 

If an announcement is made, it is applicable to those students and staff scheduled to report that day. If no announcement is made, schools will operate on a normal schedule.
