STEM graduates

This year, 10 outstanding seniors from Davie County High School successfully completed the STEM Distinction program, presenting their portfolios after four years of dedication, growth, and exploration.

Congrats to Jackson Barrett, Katie Beaver, Yasmin Chambers, A.J. Imes, Natalie Laird, Nathan Nuckols, Clara Phelps, Grady Phillips, Lanna Robinson and Carter Spillman.

The STEM Distinction is a voluntary, rigorous pathway that challenges students to go beyond the classroom with a minimum of:

  • 30+ hours of volunteerism

  • 9 lunch & learns/STEAMinars

  • 5 enrichment trips

  • 2 official college tours

  • 2 job shadowing experiences

  • Resume and a personal narrative (all in a digital portfolio website)

Students may start their experiences the summer before freshman year with enrichment trips and STEAM volunteer day offered by DCHS. The distinction process will help them explore their passions and build meaningful experiences that not only shape who they are but also strengthen college and scholarship opportunities

We are proud of these students for investing in their future and representing the excellence of the Davie County High School.
