Matthew Snow Named New Assistant Principal At Mocksville Elementary School

Mocksville, NC, August 4, 2026 - Davie County Schools has appointed Matthew Snow as the new assistant principal of Mocksville Elementary School, with a starting date of August 5, 2026.
Snow brings a decade of elementary and middle school experience to the role, most recently serving as a sixth-grade teacher at Lewisville Middle School in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. Prior to that, he was a fifth-grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary. Throughout his career, Snow has earned a reputation as a respected educator and leader with a strong commitment to student achievement, school improvement, and fostering positive school cultures.
Snow has received numerous honors, including being named Teacher of the Year at both Lewisville Middle School and Jefferson Elementary School. He was also recognized as a Teacher of Promise by Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, and a Chick-fil-A Rock Star Teacher of the Year.
In addition to his classroom experience, Snow has served as chair of the School Improvement Team and as a member of his school's safety team and CORE leadership team. He has also coached golf and basketball, mentored future educators from Wake Forest University, participated in his school's Personalized Learning Program, and served as sponsor of the Fellowship of Christian Students.
Snow earned a Master of School Administration from Appalachian State University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Lees-McRae College. He also earned an Associate of Arts degree from Surry Community College, where he was part of the school’s golf team.
